Anna Harrison First Spouse Gold Coin
The 2009 Anna Harrison Gold Coin was the ninth release of the First Spouse Gold Coin Program. She was the spouse of William Henry Harrison, who was president for only 30 days. Mrs. Harrison never actually entered the White House due to the short duration of her husband's term.
The obverse of the coin features a portrait of the First Lady designed by Donna Weaver. The reverse of the coin shows Anna Harrison sharing her love of knowledge and education with some of her students. The reverse was designed by Thomas Cleveland.
Coins were released on March 5, 2009 and limited to a maximum authorized mintage of 40,000. At the close of availability from the US Mint, sales of 9,787 coins had been reported.
