The next coin to be released for the First Spouse Gold Coin series will be the coin honoring Letitia Tyler. She served as First Spouse during the presidency of John Tyler from the years 1841 to 1842. The US Mint has recently published the release date of the coin as June 4, 2009.

The front of the coin portrays Letitia Tyler. The format and design follow the previous releases of the series. The back of the coin shows Ms. Tyler with two of her children on Cedar Grove Plantation. She was responsible for running this plantation, while her husband pursued his political career.
This coin will contain one-half ounce of 24 karat gold and carry a face value of $10. The coins will be minted in uncirculated or proof at the West Point Mint. The prices for the coins will be determined back on the average price of gold. Each week, this prices may be adjusted upwards or downwards tracking the price of gold.
This will mark the tenth release of the series.

The Mint has delayed release of this coin until July 1.
